High barrier bag with dried fruit
Why

When oxygen is the enemy

Fruits that require an airtight seal are those with minimal respiration that oxidise, lose aroma or dehydrate on contact with oxygen: especially delicate or fresh-cut varieties.

  1. 01

    Fresh-cut fruit and IV range

Apple, pear, melon, watermelon, pineapple, peeled kiwi.

They oxidise quickly and lose texture. They require high barrier film and modified atmosphere.

  2. 02

    Sensitive berries

    Raspberry, blueberry, blackberry, cut strawberry.

Highly permeable: they lose aroma and wrinkle if gas exchange is not reduced.

  3. 03

    Dried fruit with pulp

Dates, dried figs, prunes, dried cranberries.

They harden and lose moisture on contact with air.

  4. 04

    Ripe tropical fruit

Very ripe mango, papaya, opened passion fruit.

Aromatic varieties that quickly lose flavour when exposed to oxygen.
